FLIGHT SYSTEM Both Angel Wings and Demon Wings must have TWO different flight modes. Both wing types must have exactly the same flight mechanics. ## 2.1 CREATIVE FLIGHT MODE This mode allows the player to fly freely, similar to Minecraft Creative Mode. Requirements: - Works in Survival mode. - Double-tap Space to start flying. - Double-tap Space again to stop flying. - Hold Space to fly upwards. - Hold Shift to fly downwards. - Move freely in every direction. - Allow the player to hover in place. - No gravity while actively flying. - Slower than normal Creative flight. - Movement should feel slightly slippery, with smooth acceleration and deceleration. - Wings must spread open while flying. The player must be able to control their flight smoothly. ## 2.2 ELYTRA FLIGHT MODE This mode must behave like a normal Minecraft Elytra. Requirements: - Use Minecraft's Elytra-style flight physics. - Allow forward gliding. - Allow diving to gain speed. - Allow gaining altitude through Elytra-style movement. - No actual Elytra is required. - The player must be able to use this mode in Survival. - Wings must animate naturally during flight. The flight should feel as close as possible to using a normal Elytra. --- # 3. ELYTRA BOOST While using Elytra Flight Mode: - Press R to activate a boost. - The boost should behave like a Firework Rocket with Flight Duration 2. - The boost must not consume actual Firework Rockets. - Cooldown: 5 seconds. - The player should receive a strong forward boost. - Display the remaining cooldown in the HUD. - The boost must only work when the player has Angel Wings or Demon Wings equipped and Elytra Flight Mode selected. --- # 4. KEYBINDS Default keybinds: - C: Switch between Creative Flight Mode and Elytra Flight Mode. - R: Activate Elytra Boost. Requirements: - Both keybinds must be configurable in Minecraft's Controls menu. - Avoid conflicts with existing Minecraft keybinds where possible. - Pressing C should immediately switch modes. - Switching modes must work while airborne. - Do not require the player to land before switching modes. Creative Flight activation: - Double-tap Space to start or stop Creative Flight. - This is separate from the C mode-switching keybind. --- # 5. FALLING AND SLOW FALLING SYSTEM When wearing Angel Wings or Demon Wings: - The player should fall noticeably slower than a normal Minecraft player when not actively flying. - Gradually reduce the player's falling speed. - Simulate air resistance from the wings. - Make the effect smooth and natural. - The player should still be able to descend and land normally. This effect must work in both flight modes when the player is not actively gliding or flying. ## 5.1 FALL DAMAGE - Players wearing either type of wings must not receive fall damage. - This protection applies regardless of flight mode. - Players without equipped wings must receive normal fall damage. - Implement this correctly on the server as well as the client. --- # 6. WING ANIMATIONS Animations are extremely important. The wings must not remain static. ## 6.1 Standing Still - Wings should naturally fold or rest against the player's back. - Use smooth animations. ## 6.2 Flying - Wings should spread open. - Wings should flap naturally while flying. - Animations should follow the player's movement. ## 6.3 Falling - When the player starts falling, both wings should smoothly open outward. - Keep the wings open while falling. - The opening animation must be smooth. - The wings should visually resemble wings catching air. ## 6.4 Landing - When the player lands, wings should smoothly fold back into their resting position. ## 6.5 Takeoff - When the player activates Creative Flight by double-tapping Space, wings should spread open. - Use a smooth opening animation. ## 6.6 Switching Modes - Switching between Creative Flight and Elytra Flight must not cause animation glitches. - Animations must transition smoothly without snapping. Angel Wings and Demon Wings must share the same animation system but retain their individual appearances. --- # 7. HUD AND GUI When a player has Angel Wings or Demon Wings equipped: Display the current flight mode in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Show: - CREATIVE FLIGHT - ELYTRA FLIGHT Additional requirements: - Update immediately when the player switches modes. - Display the boost cooldown while it is active. - Use a small, clean and unobtrusive design. - The HUD must disappear when the player unequips their wings. - The HUD must work in multiplayer. --- # 8. EQUIPMENT SYSTEM The wings must support TWO equipment methods. ## 8.1 Normal Chestplate Slot - Wings can be equipped in the normal Minecraft chestplate slot. - Equipping wings replaces the player's chestplate. - Wings provide NO armour points or armour protection. ## 8.2 Accessories Mod Compatibility - Support the Accessories mod for Minecraft Forge 1.20.1. - Allow Angel Wings and Demon Wings to be equipped in an appropriate back accessory slot. - When equipped through Accessories, players must still be able to wear a normal chestplate. - Accessories compatibility must be optional. - The mod must still work normally without Accessories installed. --- # 9. FLIGHT MODE BEHAVIOUR The two modes must be independent. When switching from Creative Flight to Elytra Flight: - Immediately change the flight physics. - Transition smoothly into Elytra-style movement. - Do not require landing. When switching from Elytra Flight to Creative Flight: - Immediately allow unrestricted Creative-style movement. - Allow hovering, ascending and descending. The selected mode should be remembered while the wings remain equipped. When wings are unequipped: - Disable both flight modes. - Remove the flight abilities. - Stop any active boost. - Update the HUD. - Prevent the player from continuing to fly without wings. --- # 10. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS - Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.1. - Forge 47.4.10. - Java 17. - Create proper 3D wing models, not flat sprites. - Wings must attach correctly to the player's back. - Support first-person and third-person rendering appropriately. - Animations must work with normal player movement. - Both wing types must have their own textures. - Flight mechanics must work correctly in Survival. - Multiplayer support is required. - Synchronize flight modes, movement and cooldowns between client and server. - Fall damage protection must work server-side. - Accessories compatibility must be optional. - All keybinds must be configurable. - Avoid unnecessary dependencies. - Ensure there are no crashes when Accessories is not installed. --- # 11. FINAL EXPECTED RESULT Create a fully functional Minecraft Forge 1.20.1 mod named ACTUAL GOOD WINGS. The finished mod must contain: 1. Wing Part. 2. Angel Wings. 3. Demon Wings. 4. Creative Flight Mode. 5. Elytra Flight Mode. 6. Configurable mode-switching keybind. 7. Elytra boost with a 5-second cooldown. 8. Bottom-right flight mode HUD. 9. Slow falling. 10. No fall damage while wearing wings. 11. Smooth wing animations for standing, flying, falling, takeoff and landing. 12. Normal chestplate slot equipment. 13. Optional Accessories back-slot compatibility. IMPORTANT: Prioritize fully working flight mechanics, correct animations, multiplayer compatibility and proper 3D wing models. Do not create placeholder functionality. All described features must actually work in Minecraft. Before finishing, build the mod, check for compilation errors and fix any problems found.
